It is merely coincidental arranging our rendezvous with Don Mak, the illustrator, near Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences, with its red brick walls as the backdrop. He is a man who blends into Hong Kong unique streets and buildings, including Yau Ma Tei Wholesale Fruit Market, Temple Street and Cooked Food Centres, depicting their relationships with people and unveiling the stories untold in various publications and media. Don’s murals and illustrations impress both local people and outsiders by sketching and recording Hong Kong’s cultural landscapes.
